Flying Fish Company provides a high quality seafood experience in a cool outdoor dining canopy area. It feels very Portland and like you could not find it somewhere else. The prices are a bit steep despite it being more casual in both service, seating, and atmosphere. But the food is still very good. I would recommend this place for very fresh oysters, good fish and chips, and delicious poke. The poke is not traditional. But the quality of the fish is very good and the coconut in the rice is very clean. You can have a nice fried fish or a clean healthy poke. The poached fish is also very delicious.

The first time I and my husband have been to Oregon. We had an adventure. We stopped at this gem because why not enjoy a seafood restaurant near the water. They have a small section where you can see the freshly caught fish and other freshly made snacks like salmon dips and whatnot and purchase those separately. They have a dining room and a bar where you can order what they had. I got the wild catch, and my husband got the shrimp tacos, and we shared oysters. They had freshly squeezed lemonade and a pomegranate margareta (shown in pic). EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. The staff was amazing I only wish I could give more stars for tourists and locals try, try, try! I'm going back just for this place cuz i want to try everything.

Best patio for winter so far! Just wow. It’s like being on a magical porch in your friends yard with twinkle lights and art. Has a backyard vibe. However it’s heated and completely enclosed. Perfect for chilly, rainy or windy days. Best part is it’s dog friendly. They have two rented outdoor patios. There is a fire pit and two tables with chair backs. The rest are picnic tables. Our dog was convinced the metal fish art were friends to play with. Fantastic ambiance. Used to having to sit in the freezing cold to enjoy dinner with our dog, but not here! Don’t be intimidated by darkness of fish and chips. It’s perfectly flavored and lightly breaded and melts in your mouth with locally sourced tender rock fish. Husband also really enjoyed the burger. Lemonade was house made. They have gluten free options here too. We came on a Monday night and it had a chill vibe. Wasn’t too packed and the music was mellow and it was easy to carry on a conversation.

First time here at this location, more to follow! Their first location SE 25TH & DIVISION was run from the SHUCK SHACK to PROVIDOR on NE SANDY BLVD to 30TH & BURNSIDE! LOOK at them now! I've been a patron for decades and it's always been fresh & tasty! I got frozen octopus tentacles for a marinated salad - home made cocktail sauce-this Christmas - see latest 2 images; will order dine-in meals next time to review!

Experience Flying fish before everyone finds out about what a real fish market/restaurant is supposed to be.

We came here for lunch and were so glad we did. We got a salmon poke bowl with the sesame soy, an albacore tuna poke bowl with the spicy tobanjan, and the shrimp tacos. The tuna was the star of the show but everything was delicious. Small but excellent beer selection too. Service was great as well, everyone was dressed up for Halloween. I will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.

Flying Fish Company offers some of the freshest seafood you’ll find. We tried the fish & chips, clam chowder, and a dozen oysters—each dish was outstanding. The fish was perfectly crispy, the clam chowder rich and flavorful, and the oysters were impeccably fresh. While the quality is top-notch, be prepared to pay a premium for it. If you’re a seafood lover, it’s worth every penny!

Some places know how to source great seafood, some how to cook it. This place is a rare gem that has both! Family favorite, and you can't go wrong. The fish and chips are some of the best we have tried anywhere around the world. The tacos are equally great, the poke is fresh, the salads are top notch. For a special treat get the smoked platter: rich, decadent, awesome. Of course, oysters are a must and top notch. It's a small and cozy place with outdoor seating with heaters. After you're done, stop by the shop and stock up on fresh seafood.
